SID: Tell me about, very briefly the woman from Malawi that had a tumor. How big was this tumor?

LADONNA: Yes, she had a tumor that was the size of a 9-month pregnancy, and she had carried this tumor for 9 years, so she was known in her village as the “Pregnant Lady.” And she came, she heard about Jesus; she believed. And all that night she said about every 5 minutes, was up going to the bathroom, passing this terrible black stuff. By the next morning, that stomach was flat, that tumor was completely gone, and she came and gave testimony. Isn’t that wonderful?

SID: Can cancer stand against the Name of Jesus?

LADONNA: It cannot; cannot! A man came in one of Crusades. He came out of the hospital, he had Cancer Of The Brain. He had tubes out of every part of his body. He came out of that ambulance. He was completely healed; healed instantly by the power of God. Nothing’s too hard for God!

SID: Real quick, tell me about the boy in Liberia that was healed in his left eye.

LADONNA: That child, oh my goodness. He was blind in his left eye, he had a surgery and it had caused him to go blind. and he stayed in front of the platform every service crying out, praying, praying, praying. On the last day, that boy’s eyes came open. He was perfectly healed. Sid, blind eyes come open, deaf ears come open, running sores, leprous types of sores, this Elephantitis that makes huge legs, Water Head Babies; it’s a Hydrocephalus—.

SID: Okay, guess what? My faith level is zoomed.

LADONNA: Hallelujah!

SID: I know yours is too.

LADONNA: [laughs]

SID: I want you to pray now.

LADONNA: Oh, believe; believe, whatever you need.

SID: I’m getting in on this one. [laughs]

LADONNA: My friend, lay your hand wherever you want Jesus to lay His hand. Close your eyes and see Him laying His hand on you. Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus, we stand on your Word. Your Word of promise. You have declared Yourself, “I am the Lord your Healer.” We take that promise to ourselves. And I come against every ‘spirit of disease’, every ‘Infirmity’, every ‘limitation’ that the enemy of God has put on these people who are looking to Jesus, the Healer. And I command these Spirits, every one of you to leave the people. Take your ‘pain’, take your ‘symptoms’, and ‘be gone in Jesus Name’. For we stand in the ‘Authority of Jesus Christ’ declaring, “That the sick are healed.” Whatever problem you have had; Right now, begin to believe for your Miracle. Just in your heart say, “Thank You, Jesus, for my Miracle. Thank You for my healing. Thank You that my life, my health is being restored, thank You that the pain is leaving. Thank You; that “By the Stripes of Jesus, I am Healed. My body is not the health of disease, it is the ‘temple of God!’ I receive You Lord Jesus, as my Master and Lord, and my Healer right now!” Now say, “Thank You; Thank You, Jesus!” It is so according to your faith. Don’t fear, only believe.

SID: I have to tell you something. We’re going to get so many great reports, but there are people with arthritis, pain in your elbows—.

LADONNA: Mm-hmm.

SID: I really see this. All of your body pain, it’s just dropping off. All that pain is dropping off.

LADONNA: Amen, yes.

LADONNA: That’s it.

LADONNA: Time for the prayer, he did bow his head, he was reverent. And as he was just waiting, he felt that 2 men, 1 on each side, picked him up out of the dust. And He thought that was very kind. After the prayer, he turned to say, “Thank you.” And of course, no one was there. He looked down, he was standing on his legs.

SID: Um.

LADONNA: Now, Sid, that man just was crazy. He came running to the platform, I remember it as if it were yesterday.

SID: So, the 2 men were Angels.

LADONNA: They were Angels.

SID: Wow!

LADONNA: The power of God, lifted Karimu.

SID: Have you ever seen an Angel?

LADONNA: I’ve never seen an Angel.

SID: Well, I did. I was on my way, I believe it was to Siberia, or Russia many, many years ago. And that was before we had our cell phones. And it was a pay phone, and I had to use to use a certain code to dial. And there was someone in the next booth, and I thought, “Well, he’s looking at my code, so I’m going to cover this up.” And I looked at him, probably gave him a dirty look, and I called. And I keep looking at him you know, “What is he watching me so much for?” And then I turned around, and he’s not there. And so I turn around, there’s a long, long; you know at airports, they have these long corridors. Well, he couldn’t have gone anywhere because it was just second when I turned around and I would have seen him. So, I understand that, okay. But I didn’t go quite as berserk as this guy, I’m sure. [laughs]

LADONNA: [laughs] What was so beautiful, of course, everyone knew him. When he came to the platform, he grabbed the microphone from my father, and he was; like he was in a frenzy. He was shaking that microphone, and he was shouting to the people, “It’s true, it’s true, it’s true; Jesus is alive! He’s alive! How could He do this to me if He were not alive?” And of course, the crowd went wild. It was just a marvelous, marvelous Miracle. And you know, we followed that man until he finally passed away years later. But he became just a notable Evangelist in Nigeria after that healing. And my mother gave him a new name. He came to her and he said, “I want a Christian name; Kati Mu is a Muslim name.” And she said, “I give you the name, Cornelius, the healed man of God.

SID: I’ll tell you, at Passover, where we say, “It would have been enough if God had just done this!” You know, “It would have been enough if that was all that God did.” [laughs]

LADONNA: Yes. [laughs]

SID: I have to tell you this, that when the Osborn’s, shared how they went from total failure to; let me read this quote from the Historians. The Historians tell us that, “The Osborn’s had more Miracles than anyone in history.” And a lot of people are not as familiar with the Osborn’s because their Miracles were mostly in other countries.

LADONNA: Right.

BRIAN: And I was accustomed to getting words of knowledge but only inside church services. And as soon as I walk into Popeye’s I see this lady and the Lord says, “I want you to go pray for her! There’s something wrong with her arm.”

DONNA: Mmm!

BRIAN: And I’m like, “No way!”

DONNA: [Laughs]

BRIAN: “No way! I’m not going to do this, Lord!”

DONNA: You had just prayed for 15 hours! [Laughing]

BRIAN: Right! Exactly!

DONNA: And you had just gotten a prophecy. So —

BRIAN: Yeah!

DONNA: The time came and you’re like no, I can’t do it!

BRIAN: Yeah! I let fear really hit me.

DONNA: Uh-huh.

BRIAN: And I was so scared, at that moment thinking well what if nothing happens? What if I look foolish? And I’m allowing this stuff like kind of take over.

DONNA: Uh-huh.

BRIAN: And it’s just freezing me, right?

DONNA: Uh-huh.

BRIAN: And so a buddy of mine looks at me and says, “Brian!” He said, “What’s going on?” I said well I think God might be telling me about this lady who has a pain in her arm. He said, “Dude! Just go pray for her! Man, you prayed, 15 hours with us in the car with you asking God for an encounter! Then Blaine calls you out! You’re standing in the doorway of your opportunity! Just go!” I said, “No!” I mean Donna –

DONNA: Imagine this.

BRIAN: I was the biggest chicken at Popeye’s Chicken that day!

DONNA: [Laughs]

BRIAN: Really! And so I would love to say that I went over finally but I didn’t! My friend went over for me. And he said, “Ma’am, you have a pain in your arm and if you let me pray for you, God will heal you right now!” And it was almost as if my friend Greg had been praying for 15 hours and got called out in a meeting and the power of God hit him. No! He just simply stepped out in faith and obedience and love and this woman got healed!

DONNA: Mmm!

BRIAN: And I learned a valuable lesson that day! That the kingdom of God is at hand even when you’re a chicken!

DONNA: [Laughs]

BRIAN: Right?

DONNA: I believe that!

BRIAN: And that God really wants to move! And so that began to open my eyes and God began to dismantle fear by giving me lots of different opportunities. 

DONNA: Mmm.

BRIAN: So you know I understand where people start in this place of they’re intimidated. They’re fearful. 

DONNA: Sure.

BRIAN: That’s where I started too.

DONNA: Sure. And I like the fact that you have said the word “ordinary” a couple of times.

BRIAN: Yeah.

DONNA: Because not everybody is an ordained minister Not everybody is sent out by a church or not everybody has had the training, the seminary, whatever. And if you have, wonderful! That’s great!   

BRIAN: Right.

DONNA: But not everybody. The most part of us are ordinary or we feel ordinary and that’s what you were feeling. I’m just an ordinary man.

BRIAN: So I am.

DONNA: Although your passion inside was just crying out –   

BRIAN: Yes.

DONNA: To move in this way as you go and you minister to people and you see these people praying and healing.

BRIAN: Yeah.

DONNA: And so you had your opportunity.

BRIAN: Yeah.

DAVID: Now I want to tell a story real briefly. There was a man who was teaching his daughter to pray. And well, teaching her to pray he would guide her each night. And then he decides I’m going to allow her to pray on her own just so she can learn to talk to God. So one night he’s passing by her room and he puts his ear to the door and he listens in on her prayers. She’s not praying. She’s saying the alphabet singing in A, B, C, D E F G. This happens for two or three nights. And he says, eventually I have to go and tell her that this is not how you pray. So he goes and talks to her. He says, “Sweetie, listen, we talked about talking to God and you’re saying the alphabet, but you have to actually talk to God.” She says, “Daddy, I am talking to God, except I just give him the alphabet. And then he can arrange the letters however he wants.”

DAVID: That’s what you do when you’re praying in tongues, the Holy Spirit can only fill what is empty. If I’m praying words of understanding, I’m praying words with meaning and my intention attached to those words. But when I pray syllables and sounds without meaning, I’m praying surrendered syllables, and sounds that the Holy Spirit can fill. It’s by faith. Leave it to the Holy Spirit, to hide the power of God like that behind such a childlike act of faith.

DAVID: Now, when it comes to receiving that gift, we have to stop believing this lie that is not within our control. The greatest revelation someone can receive when trying to receive this gift and overcome that blockage is the fact that you are in control of the gift. Why would Paul the apostle devote a whole chapter first Corinthians 14, a whole chapter to how to control the gift, if the gift could not be controlled? The key, then, stop overthinking it. Stop analyzing it. Stop questioning it. Jesus said, if you asked for the Holy Spirit, I’m not going to give you something else. Trust him, trust his word. And you release the sounds as you release the sounds in faith the Holy Spirit comes and adds his meaning. Everything we do that is spiritual is a partnership with God, a blend between the practical and the supernatural. If you will do the difficult, God will do the impossible.

SID: I want you to pray, to release the presence of God on you, that we would hunger and thirst for this oneness. This surrender to the Spirit.

DAVID: Father in the name of Jesus, I pray for that one receiving this now. And I ask you to set their hearts on fire. You said in your word that the Holy Spirit is the one who sets our hearts on fire for Jesus, with love. And I ask you now to let the fire, some of you are sensing, I can sense it right now. Some of you are sensing like a strong heat coming on you. Some of you are sensing like electricity. Don’t be afraid. That’s the presence of the Holy Spirit. This is the real deal. And I want you to receive that right now. Father, in the name of Jesus, let them sense that power from on high, strengthen them and stir the desires of the spirit, such as never before. Take them, beyond what they can imagine and pull them into the depths of the Holy Ghost. In the name of Jesus, we pray. I want you to say because you believe it, say, “Amen.”

SID: Amen.

SID: Now, my guest, Michael Maiden, says all believers can prophesy. How can you be so certain?

MICHAEL: Well, first of all, the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14, that all can prophesy. Joel prophesied about the Holy Spirit being poured out and sons and daughters, and old men and young men, everybody, every generation can prophesy. It’s part of God’s great gifting to us through the Holy Spirit.

SID: Well, what is your experience when you teach people that have never heard such things? Give me an example when you teach, as far as the percentage of people that begin to prophesy.

MICHAEL: The book of 1 Corinthians 14 talks about, it says pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, and especially the gift of prophecy. I teach on that and then we have people pray for each other. I’ve done this around the world so many times, and 85, 90% of people feel like they’ve heard from God. They give someone a prophecy and there’s so much joy. The room erupts with satisfaction and joy when people hear God’s … Jesus said this in John 10, “My sheep know My voice, hear My voice.” So people find so much joy, and really excitement, when they know the Holy Spirit is speaking to them.

SID: Now, when people still say, “I did what you said, but I hear nothing.” What is usually the problem?

MICHAEL: Every Christian has heard God’s voice. In fact, probably every person. When we say we haven’t heard God’s voice, it’s because there’s other noise. There’s static, as you said, in our hearts that we have to calm down, we have to bring peace. When we’re at peace, we are best able to hear God’s voice. It’s so important for us to get to that place of peace, because that’s where we can feel and be led by the Spirit and hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. God’s speaking, sometimes people are in so much turmoil, or anxiety, or pain, or confusion they just can’t hear that still small voice.

SID: Oh, Michael, as I look at you now, you were very successful a while ago, but you got diagnosed manically and clinically depressed. How large was your church at that time?

MICHAEL: We had a church, about 4,000 people in 1995, and I was just so young. I was 37. Our treasurer, a local businessman, we had our accounts with him and he embezzled $20 million from us while we were building our building. We were building a 5,000 seat, 4,800 seat auditorium. So we were in the front page of the paper at, 10 times, headlines. I had 6 lawsuits, 15 concurrent attorneys. Our church attendance dwindled from 4,000 to about 150 people. I became seriously manically and suicidally depressed. I knew I was depressed because I was finishing my PhD in psychology, so we talking about the timing of the Lord. I was 37 and I thought my life was over, but Jesus healed me.

SID: Tell me what happened to your son while this was going on?

MICHAEL: Yeah, my oldest son started self-medicating. He was just a young man, 12 or 13, and we were homeless. So many negative things happened, and he started just trying to take care of his pain.

SID: Did you say homeless?

MICHAEL: Yeah. We were homeless for six months and we actually lived with people that were kind to us.

SID: That had to be such a comedown from where you were.
